Data Licensing & Fair Use
Can I use the data for commercial purposes?
- Yes, commercial use is allowed under our standard license. However, redistribution, reselling, or sublicensing of the data is strictly prohibited. If you need redistribution rights, please contact our sales team to discuss a custom license.
What are the rate limits and usage caps?
- Each subscription includes:
- 250,000 API requests per day
- 20 requests per second
- 20 concurrent WebSocket connections with up to 100 subscriptions per connection

Can I share my API key with other teams or third parties?
- No. API keys are single-tenant and tied to the purchasing organization. Sharing keys violates our Terms of Use and may result in access being revoked.
Data Coverage & History
Which exchanges and instruments are supported?
- We support all active trading pairs listed by the exchange through its public APIs—excluding probationary or incubation listings that are not made available for public data distribution.
How much historical data will I have access to?
- Monthly billing subscription: One year historical lookback via API
- Yearly billing subscription: Full historical data via API (and via S3 if you add the S3 package)
*NOTE* - Order Book Snapshots and Events accessed via REST API are limited to the past 18 months of historical data across all exchanges. For access to data prior to that period, we recommend using our bulk file delivery option via Amazon S3, which provides full historical coverage.
Is bulk historical data available?
- Yes. You can purchase an AWS S3 Bulk Data add-on if you have a yearly subscription. You’ll need to provide your AWS ARN (Amazon Resource Name) for delivery.
Which datasets are included?
- Your subscription includes all available market data for your selected exchange, such as:
- Trades
- Order Book Events
- Order Book Snapshots
- OHLCV
- Tickers
- and more.. depending on the market type.
Subscription Management
When will I receive my API key?
- You’ll receive your API key via email within 24 business hours after completing your purchase. Check your spam folder if it doesn’t arrive.
Can I upgrade from monthly to yearly?
- Yes, you can upgrade at any time. You’ll get full historical data and can add the S3 Bulk Data option. Upgrades must be done via email to online-orders@amberdata.io
How do I cancel my subscription?
- You can cancel anytime via the billing portal linked in your confirmation email or by emailing online-orders@amberdata.com. Access remains active until the end of your billing cycle.
Do I need to sign a contract?
- No contract is required. This is a subscription billed monthly or yearly. You can cancel at any time from your billing portal.
